Morning Arrival Procedures

Bette Perot Elementary
Student Arrival Procedures

Bette Perot Elementary is open to students starting at 7:35 a.m. daily. Students will go straight to their classrooms, unless they are eating breakfast at school. Students who eat breakfast will go to the cafeteria to get their breakfast before going to the classroom. There is no supervision for students dropped-off before 7:35 a.m., so we highly suggest students not arrive before that time.

Refer to the traffic map on the reverse side for a visual of student arrival procedures, as well as, parking and no-parking areas. Remember that we have over 500 students arriving each day, and these procedures are put in place for every child’s safety. Common courtesy and everyone following the procedures will help to make dismissal safe and quick for all.

Mobile phones are never to be used in the parking lot while your car is running.

1.     Bus riders, bike riders, select students we have spoken with and daycare/transportation companies will enter the school from the cafeteria door off of Dalton St.

2.     Walkers may enter through the cafeteria door or front door, depending on which is most convenient.

3.     All Car Riders will enter the school through the front door, by the flag pole. Parents will form one line in the righthand lane entering the parking lot. When you pull into the Arrival Zone (orange cones by the north canopy) a teacher will help your child out of your car.

4.     If you choose to let your child out before you enter the Arrival Zone, you may carefully pull into the left lane and drive through without waiting.

5.     Please help us make arrival as efficient as possible by teaching your child to unbuckle and be ready to exit the car when a staff member opens the door.

6.     All parents, guardians and visitors will enter the building through the front door. To enter the building past the office, a parent or visitor must present a valid driver’s license. This is not meant as an inconvenience for our families and friends, but as a safety measure for our students to control who has access to them during the school day.

After 7:55 all students entering the building will be considered tardy.
